Corona patients worldwide crossed 6 million on Wednesday. The death toll has also crossed 14 lakh. Meanwhile, Corona’s speed has once again accelerated. By September, on an average, 3 lakh patients were increasing daily. Now more than 6 lakh patients are coming every day.

The second wave of Corona has started in 54 countries including America, Brazil, France, Russia. The biggest impact is seen in North America, Europe and Asian countries. In India too, a wave of the second wave has started appearing. Last week, there were 3 days when more new patients came to India than those who were cured. Meaning the number of active cases has increased in these 3 days. Earlier, active cases were decreasing for 41 consecutive days.

Corona spread like this across the world

  • The infection was first confirmed in a 55-year-old man in Wuhan city of China on 17 November 2019. It was claimed by the South China Morning Post.
  • From 17 November to 31 December 2019, at least 566 people were affected by Corona.
  • In early 2020 the infection spread to many other countries of the world.
  • On 23 January, China closed the city of Wuhan completely. All the people living here were isolated.
  • The first case was confirmed in the US on 21 January, France on 24 January, India on 30 January and Italy on 31 January.
  • On 30 January, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Coronavirus a Global Public Health Emergency.
  • Germany, Vietnam, US, Japan confirmed patients who did not visit China themselves, but were exposed to people coming from the city of Wuhan, China.
  • On 11 March the WHO declared Corona an epidemic.

One crore patients found in only 18 days
On 17 November 2019, in Wuhan, China, 223 days after the first case came to light, on 27 June, this number increased to one crore. After this the infection caught such pace that in just 43 days this figure increased from 1 crore to 2 crore. In its next 38 days, the number of infected increased from 2 to 3 crores and then in 32 days from 3 to 4 crores. It took 21 days to get 4 to 5 crore cases. At the same time, 5 to 6 crore cases took place in just 18 days. If the same rate of growth of the infected has occurred, then by December more than 80 million people worldwide would have been infected.

How frightening is the second wave of Corona?

  • The cases: WHO presented the Weekly Report on 17 November. It has been told that between 9 and 15 November, more than 4 million patients grew worldwide. This is 22% higher than the previous week.
  • The deaths: During this time, 60 thousand deaths occurred, which is 11% more than last week. Out of these 60 thousand people who lost their lives, 81% of the patients are from Europe and America.
  • Warning: WHO has said that the way the cases are increasing in winter, it is clear that the infection of corona in Middle East countries will go to its dangerous level. It will be more harmful than the first wave.

Vaccine will be available next year
More than 100 vaccines are in operation worldwide. There are 5 major vaccines among them. The manufacturers of these vaccines have claimed that the trial results have also been good. Experts say that the best vaccine for India could prove to be the Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccine (CoveShield). Two days ago, Oxford claimed that the vaccine was found to be 90% effective in the trial.
