New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 58 runs in the second match of the two-match Test series. With this, New Zealand won the series 2-0. Sri Lanka started the fourth day at 113/2 in the second innings and were all out for 358 runs. Henry Nicholls was adjudged Player of the Match and Kane Williamson was adjudged Player of the Series.
De Silva played an inning of 98 runs in the second innings
The start of the second innings was also poor for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka had already lost 2 wickets. Angelo Mathews and Kushal Mendis started the fourth day. Williamson and Nicholls double century
For New Zealand, Kane Williamson and Henry Nicholls scored double centuries and played a huge partnership of 363 runs. Williamson scored 215 and Nicholls scored an unbeaten 200. This was Williamson’s 28th Test century. Williamson scored 215 runs in 296 balls with the help of 23 fours and two sixes.
At the same time, Nicholls hit 15 fours and four sixes in his unbeaten 200 off 240 balls. This is Williamson’s third consecutive century innings. He had scored a century in the first Test against Sri Lanka and before that against England as well.
New Zealand-Sri Lanka ODI and T20 series schedule
The first ODI of the series will be played in Auckland on Saturday (March 25). At the same time, the second match of the ODI series will be played on 28 March. This match will be played in Christchurch. Apart from this, the third and last match of the series will be played in Hamilton on 31 March.
