Welcome to Career Fund!

Today we are presenting the experiences of some like-minded IAS toppers. Through years of teaching, I have found that all toppers have some common personality and thinking traits, and I am going to share the same beautiful things with you today. Let’s know 8 special things of toppers…

8 Surefire Tips To Make Your Performance A ‘Topper Performance’

1) They really knew what they wanted: In my years of teaching, I found that the toppers have their own passion to join the civil service. Meaning they are not preparing on someone else’s advice or motivation. It is their inner voice that motivates them to prepare for civil services. In fact, UPSC preparation has to face a lot of difficulties, so when you are preparing on your own, you are able to bear that trouble. Whoever talks to me, I definitely tell them one thing ‘Preparing for civil services only when you have a strong urge to do it.’

2) They Treat Civil Services Exam Preparation Like A World War: I realized that Civil Services preparation is like a big war in which many small battles have to be fought. Success comes after a lot of compromises, sacrifices, hardwork, and lots of heart-burns. You’ll have to fight lots of short battles incessantly. From yourself, from relatives, from friends, from peers, from successful candidate, from your friends who have become successful, from mental state, from frustration. Are you ready to fight so many battles? Will you be defeated somewhere? Will you leave the field and run away?

3) They practice answer writing from day one: The most important single thing that comes out in civil exam is that answer writing skills Huh. I have seen many such students who, despite being very brilliant, could not succeed due to lack of good writing skills. You do not need to be an expert in the language, nor do you need to use heavy words. Use simple words but don’t make basic grammar mistakes in writing the language, write precise and to-the-point. And for this start from day one.

4) Knowledge of your strengths and weaknesses: All the toppers are very well aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and they accept it, don’t fight it. Thus they avoid fighting the losing battles, focus on their strengths and achieve success. Do you have this maturity?

5) Supreme Confidence and Cheerfulness: ‘You have to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.’ There are so many factors, so many parameters, so many subjectivity for success in civil services that one who wants to give exam should think about how many years he wants to give this exam. Life cannot shrink around just one exam, there are many more things in it. There is a time limit for every task. If one would think that this is the end of the world, it is not so. You become the brightest civil servant, you become the best politician, nothing is the end of the world. Confidence to understand this, and a smile on your face, is essential.

6) Effective Hardwork: Important thing in civil services effective hardwork is of. You must have heard the story of Sisyphus in Greek Mythology who used to lift the stone on the mountain every morning and the stone used to roll down every day. Do not do this kind of hardwork, but do effective hardwork. Toppers do effective hard work.

7) Tremendous Reading Habits: Writing good, accurate and to-the-point answers requires knowledge and reading. Almost all toppers are great readers And this habit is often inculcated in them since childhood. A person who reads many books lives many lives in one life.

8) Restrained Life: almost all toppers life restrained and disciplined live. This restraint and discipline goes beyond studies, from eating habits to waking up to sleep. Can you keep doing this day in and day out?
