Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding covid management as soon as she took command for the third consecutive time in West Bengal. In a letter written on Wednesday, he appealed to the central government to provide the vaccine for free vaccination in the state. Apart from this, he requested the PM to provide adequate vaccine as well as oxygen supply, hospital beds, essential medicines in the state. They demanded that we need at least 10 thousand remedies doses and 1000 tocilizumab vials every day. It should be arranged as soon as possible.

The Chief Minister also expressed concern about the lack of oxygen in the state. He wrote that the supply of oxygen needs to be increased from 220 MT to 500 MT. The need for oxygen will increase further in the coming 7 days. 500 MT of oxygen should be provided to the state at the earliest. Along with this, Mamta has also demanded to arrange oxygen cylinders in the letter.
Hawker, transporters and journalists will be the first to be vaccinated
He also held the first press conference after assuming the CM’s chair. In it, he said that hawkers, transporters and journalists in the state will be given priority in vaccine doses. It is our responsibility to end the corona. Corona will have to be removed from Bengal.
Must wear masks, 50% staff in government office
He said that given the situation in Corona, we need to take some action. Everybody should wear a mask. Also, 50% of the employees will be present in government offices. At the same time, private companies also get their employees to work from home and here too, there will be 50% exemption of employees in the office. Apart from this, there has been a ban on opening of shopping complex, gym, cinema hall, beauty parlor in the state. There will also be a ban on political and social programs in the state.
Markets will open from 7 to 10 in the morning and 5-7 in the evening
Apart from this, he has given instructions to open all markets, grocery stores and shops 7 to 10 in the morning and 5 to 7 in the evening. Instructions have been given to suspend all types of local rail services from Thursday. No more than 50% passengers will be allowed in state transport buses and metro trains. Instructions have also been given to open the jewelery shop from 12 to 3 pm. Home delivery will be encouraged. The bank will also work from 10 am to 2 pm.
Negative report required at the airport
Apart from this, he said that passengers will be allowed only after Corona’s RT-PCR report comes negative at the airport from 7 May. RT-PCR reports should not be older than 3 days. If a passenger report is positive, then the airport authority will send it in isolation for 14 days.
