Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), a research organization for the Army, on Thursday successfully test-fired the Very Short Range Air Defense System Missile (VSHORADS) from a portable launcher. Two tests of the missile were conducted at the Integrated Testing Range (ITR) located in the Chandipur range of Odisha.
VSHORADS is a Man Portable Air Defense System (MANPAD). It has been designed and developed by DRDO’s Research Center Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad in collaboration with other DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners.
VSHORADS includes many new technologies
Many new technologies have been incorporated in VSHORADS. This includes a miniature reaction control system and integrated avionics. During the test, the missile hit all the targets. Attack the target with accuracy.
Will neutralize low altitude air threats over short distances
According to DRDO, this missile is designed to neutralize low altitude air threats at short range. This missile and launcher have been designed so that it can be easily carried anywhere. According to media reports, many officials were present during the test.
QRSAM missile test successful 19 days ago
Sixth successfully test-fired Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (QRSAM) off Odisha coast. During this, the missile hit the target accurately and destroyed the target in the stipulated time. This missile can destroy enemy missiles coming in a range of 3 to 30 km. Read full news…
