Yogesh Raj, a former Bajrang Dal activist arrested in the Bulandshahar violence in 2018, has won the district in the panchayat elections. Yogesh Raj was accused of inciting violence. The violence had increased so much that a police inspector, Subodh Singh, was killed. Yogesh Raj contested from ward number 5 in the panchayat elections here and defeated Independent rival Innocent Chaudhary by 2,150 votes. Yogesh Raj was running out on bail while contesting elections.

Regarding the violence in Siyana of Bulandshahr, Yogesh said that two people have died in this violence, but they are not accused of murder. He said, “Two people died in Siyana violence, my sympathies are with their families, but I am just accused of violence, not murder.” Yogesh said that if people expressed their desire, they would also stand for the upcoming assembly elections. He said, ‘If people live in future also, then I can contest the assembly elections. A year ago I was with Bajrang Dal, but now I am not with any organization.
