Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US President Joe Biden’s envoy on climate change, John Carrey, are on a visit to India. The meeting of the leaders of the two countries is under discussion in New Delhi amid the ongoing tension between the US and Russia. If sources are to be believed, the Russian Foreign Minister and the former US Secretary of State are staying in the same hotel. In the meeting between the two, the issue of climate change was discussed.

His special envoy John Cary is on a visit to the United Arab Emirates, India and Bangladesh from 1 to 9 April, ahead of the summit organized by US President Joe Biden about the Clement Change. During this time, John Cary will discuss the 26th Conference on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26). In this connection, Carrie reached India on Monday.

Carrie met Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday to discuss the issue of climate change. Carrie will also meet representatives of the Government of India, the private sector and NGOs on a tour of India.

Russia’s foreign minister is also in India
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is also visiting India. During this time he met with the External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar in New Delhi. The statement issued by Russia emphasizes strengthening of relations between the two countries.

Jaishankar said that our relations with Russia are very special. Despite rapid changes in the world over the last decades, our relations have strengthened. We are cooperating in multilateral forums, especially the United Nations Security Council, SCO, BRICS and the G-20.
