7200 crores for land acquisition in UP Budget Ganga Expressway (Meerut-Prayagraj) project


Several road projects have been gifted to the backward region of Purvanchal and Bundelkhand in the budget of the UP government. Budget has been received for the construction of express-way in Eastern and Bundelkhand. Looking at the assembly elections in UP next year, it is considered very important.

300 crore has been allocated in the UP budget for the special scheme of Purvanchal and Rs 210 crore for Bundelkhand. UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that separate funds will be given on the development plans of Purvanchal and Bundelkhand. There is a budget of Rs 1107 crore for the Purvanchal Expressway project (Lucknow-Ghazipur). There is a budget of Rs 860 crore for Gorakhpur Link Expressway project of Purvanchal.


Gorakhpur is the home district of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Tourism will increase in this link express-way Purvanchal. A budget provision of Rs 1492 crore is proposed for the Bundelkhand Express-Way project connecting the five districts of Bundelkhand.

Apart from this, a provision of Rs 7200 crore has been made for land acquisition and Rs 498 crore for construction work in the Ganga Expressway (Meerut-Prayagraj) project. Lucknow-Agra Expressway was built under the SP government. This time the BJP government is claiming to complete the construction of Purvanchal Expressway before the elections.
