Azam Khan Bail: The Supreme Court on Thursday granted interim bail to jailed Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan in an alleged cheating case. After which SP leader Azam Khan is being released from Sitapur jail today. According to the information, he can come out of jail around 9 o’clock. His sons Abdullah Azam and Shivpal Yadav have reached Sitapur Jail to take Azam Khan. Azam Khan is in jail since the year 2020. The UP Police had registered 88 cases against him in the last few years. Khan was granted interim bail by the apex court on Thursday in the 88th case.

Azam Khan was tightened after the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh from 2017. In 2019, 87 cases were registered against him after he was elected Lok Sabha member from Rampur. After this he was sent to Sitapur Jail in February 2020. After a long legal battle, Azam Khan got bail in 86 cases, but in one case related to enemy property, the court’s decision was yet to come. On December 4 last year, the Allahabad High Court had reserved the verdict. After four months of this, Azam Khan filed a petition in the Supreme Court for interim bail. Azam has alleged that the UP government is deliberately delaying due to political vendetta.
Let us inform that Azam Khan had contested the 2022 state election from jail and won the Rampuri seat again.
