Famous and famous wrestlers of the country Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat have got approval for foreign training. Both the requests have been accepted by TOPS. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) has approved the request of wrestler Bajrang Punia to attend international training camps in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan and Vinesh Phogat in Spala (Poland).
While Bajrang had requested to train for 16 days in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, Vinesh had requested to train for 11 days at the Olympic Preparatory Center in Spala (Poland). Both of which have been approved.

Tops will also bear the expenses of the team of both the wrestlers.
The financial assistance will cover camp expenses including air tickets, training, boarding and lodging costs of the athletes, and miscellaneous costs like airport transfer, insurance and internal travel, including out of pocket expenses. TOPS will also cover the expenses of Vinesh’s practice partner – Sangeeta Phogat and physiotherapist Ashwini Jeevan Patil and Bajrang’s coach Sujit Mann, physiotherapist Anand Kumar, and strength and conditioning specialist Qazi Kiron Mustafa Hasan.
National camp will be organized in Sonepat Sai from tomorrow
Meanwhile, a national coaching camp will also be organized for the Indian wrestling team to participate in the upcoming Senior Asian Championships 2023, based on the selection trials conducted by the Wrestling Monitoring Committee. The national camp is planned to be held from March 22 to April 8 at the Sonepat regional center of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and will feature 108 wrestlers. These 108 wrestlers will also include men’s freestyle and Greco Roman wrestlers, who are already training at SAI Sonepat.
