Perhaps no position in sports impacts betting odds the way that starting quarterbacks affect the
NFL odds. This is arguably the most important single position in all of sports, and it’s definitely one that comes with plenty of pressure.
There is always plenty of debate about which quarterbacks are the best in the NF, and that could change on a week-to-week basis. Based on the first 10 weeks of the 2022 NFL season, here are the best 10 quarterbacks.
Justin Fields is well on his way to becoming a superstar, and he might already be at that level. Fields has been doing a ton of damage with his legs in 2022, and he is setting NFL records in the process.
The NFC North is not going to have fun dealing with the young QB.
Kyler Murray has had an interesting start to his career in Arizona, and it hasn’t always gone well. There is no denying his talent, though, and the fact that he can run just makes him even tougher to defend.
Murray still has room for improvement, but he has the ability to put up big stats on any given Sunday.
Justin Herbert entered the season with a ton of hype, and he has been able to live it up to it for the most part. Herbert has put up some monster stats with the Los Angeles Chargers, but it hasn’t always led to many victories.
Herbert is a player that should continue to climb up this list as the rest of his career plays out.
Tom Brady is nearing the end of his Hall of Fame career, and it’s clear that he has lost a step or two from his glory days. That doesn’t mean that Brady isn’t still one of the best players in the league, and he is good enough to carry his team in the postseason.
Brady isn’t a quarterback that is going to run around a ton, but he is smart enough and has the arm talent to be tough on opposing defenses.
There were some concerns about Jalen Hurts when he entered the NFL, but he has passed all of those tests with flying colors. Hurts is having the best season of his career in 2022 and he could be on a path to bigger and better things.
Joe Burrow has made it look too easy since coming into the NFL and nearly won a Super Bowl a season ago. Burrow did appear to have a Super Bowl hangover to begin the 2022 season, but he’s back to putting up big numbers.
Lamar Jackson has already won an MVP Award at the quarterback position as one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league. Jackson still has to get better at throwing the football, but his ability to run makes him a nightmare for opponents.
You can’t include Jackson in a category with the first three players on this list, but he’s in a group all on his own.
Aaron Rodgers entered the 2022 season having won back-to-back NFL MVP Awards, and he’s clearly one of the best players in the league. Rodgers hasn’t exactly been as dominant in 2022 as he has in years past, but he still has the talent to light the league up.
Josh Allen has been nearly unstoppable for the Bills at times during the start of his NFL career, and he is only going to get better. Allen has the ability to simply run over opposing defenses, but he can also throw the deep ball.
The only thing missing from his resume is a deep playoff run, but there is a chance that it could happen in 2022.
It’s going to take a pretty big push from another quarterback to knock Patrick Mahomes off of the top spot. Mahomes has already accomplished so much during his short career, and he appears well on his way to the Hall of Fame.
Mahomes has had to do it all without the services of Tyreek Hill this year, and that proves his greatness even more. The Chiefs star is at the top of the list until he isn’t there anymore.
