They say – whenever you feel like worrying or thinking too much, shout to yourself in your mother tongue and say stop. This may sound ridiculous to you, but whenever it happens, try it. The mind stops thinking disturbing things.

Tie a rubber band in your hand and pull it while saying so. You can also put such pictures around you. Actually, our goal is to stabilize the mind. They suggest another way, telling ourselves that our thinking is not right. It has been revealed in many studies that people who find solutions to problems from their experience are less prone to depression. So listen to your experiences.

Florida State University psychologist Dr. Edward Selby suggests a few other ways to distract yourself from worrying or overthinking. They say – keep yourself happy by distracting your mind. Watch movies on different subjects, which the mind has to work hard to understand. Whenever you are upset, take a bath. The mind will get peace. Listen to new songs. Dance or go to the gym. Keep yourself busy, whether by reading a book or meditating.
