The 16th season of the Indian Premier League is going to start from 31st March. The league will begin with a high voltage clash between defending champions Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, 41 years old, has also started preparing for this match. He landed in the first practice session of the season. His practicing video went viral on Sunday. In this video, Dhoni faced two balls and was seen timing both. Posting this video, CSK wrote- ‘Nothing can really match the feeling of Friday.’ Social media fans are giving funny answers on this. One user wrote, please don’t say that this is Dhoni’s last season. Another user wrote – Eagerly waiting to see MS Dhani’s long sixes again.
Warm welcome at the airport
Earlier, Mahendra Singh Dhoni had a grand reception at Chennai airport. He was welcomed with flowers. Whose video became very viral on social media.

Dhoni’s last IPL could be
This could be Dhoni’s last IPL. During a match last season, he was asked if he was going to retire. So Dhoni had said in response to this that whenever I retire, I will retire among my domestic fans. This time CSK will play the last match of the league stage at their home ground on 14th May. The team played its last home match on 7 May 2019. In such a situation, speculations are being made that Dhoni can announce his retirement after that match, although no official statement has come on this.
Dhoni announced his retirement from International Cricket on 15 August 2020. He played his last international match in the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup in 2019.
CSK has become champion four times under the captaincy of Dhoni.
CSK team is one of the most successful team after MI in the Indian league. MI has won 5 titles, while CSK has won 4 titles under Dhoni’s captaincy. The CSK team won the first title in 2010 under the captaincy of Dhoni. Then in 2011 and 2018, the team became champions under Dhoni’s captaincy. And the last time he won the title in 2021. Even then Dhoni was the captain of CSK.
