Before the Delhi MCD Election, the central government has played the bet of ‘where there is a slum, there is a house’. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri held a press conference today. He told that work is going on in many areas of Delhi on the scheme of giving houses instead of slums. PM Uday Yojana will benefit 50 lakh people in Delhi. BJP MP from North East Delhi Manoj Tiwari advocated increasing the floor area ratio ie FAR in Delhi Development Authority (DDA) flats after this announcement by the Centre. Manoj Tiwari said, ‘When the house is small and the family is big, there is a need to increase the floor area ratio.’ He said that according to the 2041 model, there will be no problem in enlarging the house. This is a big announcement from the Centre.

Manoj Tiwari said, ‘Today the people of Delhi live in DDA flats, they live in group housing societies. The Modi government has taken a decision to double the FAR of those who have their own house in Delhi. This is a commendable step. He said that no one can come to show you the stick after the decision to double the FAR in renovating your house. No one can come to make a wrong demand.
He further said that by getting rid of the problem of land pooling, this facility will also be given to the people there. This was a big problem of Delhi, which needed to be resolved.
Actually, Hardeep Singh Puri told that about 1 crore 35 lakh citizens of Delhi will get the benefit of redevelopment. By 2040, the total population of Delhi will reach 30 million. The population is increasing continuously, but the land is the same. That is why a master plan has been prepared for Delhi till 2041. In which pucca houses for the poor and the work of redevelopment of illegal colonies are included. The minister told that there will be 75 lakh beneficiaries under the land pooling scheme.
After this announcement, Manoj Tiwari said that the government has solved the problem of unauthorized colony. The problem of DDA and housing society has been resolved. Thanks to PM Modi for this.
What is Floor Area Ratio?
Floor Area Ratio (FAR) or Floor Space Ratio (FSR) refers to the maximum floor space that can be built on a piece of land. In other words, it is the ratio between the total constructed floor area and the land area of the building. It is also called FSI i.e. Floor Space Index in some markets.
The FAR of a project is the total floor area of the building (which includes the space covered by all the floors of the building) divided by the area of the land on which the project is being constructed. The FAR is fixed by the municipal corporation or development authorities as per the Development Control Regulations (DCR). It can be different in every city or region.
