Korean company Hyundai India Motor today (March 10) has officially unveiled the specifications of its electric car next generation Hyundai Kona.

The 2023 Hyundai Kona Electric has been completely redesigned and has been developed in the EV-to-ICE process. The company will offer this car in ICE, hybrid and electric powertrain options.

Battery and RangeThe electric version of the car will be launched in the market with two battery packs 48.4 kWh and 65.4 kWh options. The company claims that the car will get a WLTP range of 490 km on a single charge. The EV crossover will be offered in a standard and a long range model. The car will get features like 12.3-inch dual-screen dashboard, ADAS, LED lighting and an electronic gear selector.

2023 Hyundai Kona Electric price to be announced later
The company says that the prices of the 2023 Hyundai Kona Electric will be updated soon for the global markets. The current model costs Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Considering the more range and features available in the new 2023 model, the car could be a few lakhs more expensive. At the Auto Expo 2023, the company launched its second electric car in India, the Ionic 5.

Hyundai Kona Electric: Design and Interior
The new generation Kona Electric gets a wraparound front light bar at the front. The Kona EV gets the same pixel graphics exterior and sharp lines as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 as well as split LED headlamps. The length of the car is 4,355 mm and it is almost 150 mm longer than the old Kona. The wheelbase has also been increased by 25 mm. The car’s interior gets the same 12.3-inch wraparound digital driver’s display on the dashboard as on the Ionic 5.

Hyundai Kona Electric: Features
The new generation Kona Electric gets features like Bose’s 8 speaker sound system, keyless entry, OTA updates, heads-up display, connected car technology and power tail gate. On the other hand, talking about safety features, ADAS, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, high beam assist, lane keeping assist and forward collision avoidance assist system are available in it.
