US giant electric car company Tesla (India) has finally knocked in India. The car manufacturer has set up a research and development unit in Bangalore. Confirming this on Twitter, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa congratulated Tesla CEO Elon Musk (CEO Elon Musk). Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also announced Tesla’s arrival in India.
Yeddyurappa tweeted, “Karnataka will lead green mobility in India. US electric car giant manufacturer Tesla will soon start its business in India with an R&D unit in Bengaluru. I am in India by Elon Musk Welcome and wish them all the best. ” Tesla is in contact with at least five state governments to start business in India. Tesla has registered a company in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. After this, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa welcomed Tesla CEO Elon Musk in India and Karnataka. Three directors are named in the company’s registration, one of which is David Feinstein, a senior executive of Tesla.
The company is also in touch with the governments of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Musk had said on Twitter last year that his company will definitely make its debut in the Indian market next year. Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that Tesla Model 3 will be launched in India first. The Model 3 is one of the cheapest vehicles in Tesla, priced at around 55 lakhs. It is being said that its booking will also start by the end of January. Tesla is entering India at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy promoting electric vehicles in the country.
