Hackers sold personal data of 1.5 lakh patients of Sri Saran Medical Center in Tamil Nadu online. The information about this data breach was given by CloudSEK, a cyber threat monitoring company.
According to the company, patients’ personal data has been sold on cybercrime forums and a Telegram channel. This private data was obtained from third-party vendor Three Cube IT Labs and includes patient information from 2007 to 2011.
The hackers shared a sample of the data for potential buyers of the data, so that the authenticity of the data could be checked. The leaked data included patients’ names, dates of birth, addresses, caregivers’ names and doctors’ details.
AIIMS Delhi’s server has been hacked since November 23
The server of Delhi AIIMS, the country’s largest government hospital, is down since 7 am on 23 November. Those who hacked the server have demanded Rs 200 crore. Hackers have asked to make payment in cryptocurrency. News agency ANI had claimed this by quoting sources. However, the Delhi Police has denied that any kind of ransom was demanded.
Chinese hackers hand behind hacking
The officials probing the matter have said that China is behind the hacking. It has been told that 5 servers of AIIMS were hacked. According to IFSO, personal data has also been leaked during the hacking.
This data is also likely to be on the main domain of the dark web. Due to this, the possibility of leaking secret data of lakhs of patients including VVIPs of India has increased. However, officials are denying that any data has been compromised. Read the full news here…
