Swiggy layoffs 2023: Food delivery company Swiggy has decided to lay off about 380 employees out of its total employees. Through this, the company is trying to become profitable by reducing the cost before offering its IPO. Along with this, due to continuous shortage in funding, the company has taken this big decision. With this decision, Swiggy has now joined the list of companies including Amazon, Goldman, Microsoft, which have laid off a large number of their employees recently.

Regarding this, Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety has said that it is very difficult for us to take the decision to lay off employees (Swiggy layoffs 2023). Today i.e. on Friday, Shriharsh Majeti sent an email to all his employees. In which he has said that we are going to take a very difficult decision to reduce the total size of our employees as a reconstructive exercise. As part of this process, we are saying goodbye to approximately 380 of our talented Swigsters. This is a very difficult decision taken considering all the options. We are extremely sorry for the circumstances you have had to go through because of this decision.
The company said that it has prepared an Employee Assistance Plan, which will provide financial and physical help to the affected employees during this retrenchment process. The CEO of Swiggy has said that the company is committed to explore new business opportunities. For this, the company is also focusing on some existing new verticals. Under this, the company will soon close its meat marketplace. Although this vertical did good business. In view of this, the company will continue the delivery of meat for its customers through Instamart. Along with this, the company will continue to invest in other new verticals.
