For the T20 World Cup, former Indian player Suresh Raina has described Team India as a strong contender for victory. After this tournament, Virat Kohli will leave the captaincy of the T20 format. In such a situation, Raina believes that the players of the team should give a wonderful farewell to Captain Kohli by winning the T20 World Cup and Virat deserves it too.

win for kohli
In a column written for the ICC, Suresh Raina said – The message for India in the T20 World Cup is simple – do it for Virat Kohli. In this tournament he will probably be the last time as captain so it is very important for him to assure everyone that we can do this and we have to support him. For this reason, Indian fans cannot wait for the T20 World Cup 2021 to begin. We have the players, we have the rhythm – all we have to do is get on the field and execute the plan.

IPL will get the benefit
Raina further said- All our players have played in the recently concluded IPL in UAE and they are in top form playing eight or nine matches in this environment. This gives India an edge over all the other teams and from my point of view it makes India a strong contender to win the T20 World Cup. The situation in UAE is similar to that of India and Pakistan. This is a good opportunity for the Asian teams to play their natural game. We have been waiting for this T20 World Cup for a long time. The last two years have been difficult, but I think we will see something special in the UAE and Oman.

First match will be with Pakistan
In the T20 World Cup, the Indian team will start its campaign against Pakistan on 24 October. The high voltage match between the two countries will be played on the Dubai ground. After this, the team will play against New Zealand on 31 October and Afghanistan on 3 November. The team will face B1 on 5 November and A2 on 8 November.
