US State Department spokesman Ned Price said in response to a question that it is for India-Pakistan to decide the nature of the talks and if both countries want, America is ready to play its role in it.
Price, however, ruled out the possibility of the US playing any role of a mediator in the talks between India and Pakistan.
In his daily press conference, he said, “They (India and Pakistan) can decide on their own in this regard.” If they so desire, the United States stands ready to play a special role… The United States stands ready to support that process in any way as a partner of both countries….”

Price was asked, “Analysts believe that the US has the power and authority to mediate between the two partners.” Pakistan and India are your partners, so why don’t you play the role of a mediator?”
In response, he said, “Ultimately, America does not determine the process under which India and Pakistan should hold talks with each other.” We support constructive dialogue and meaningful diplomacy between India and Pakistan to resolve long-standing conflicts. ,
In response to another question, Price said that India is a global strategic partner of America.
He said, “Our message for India and about India is consistent. India is a global strategic partner of the US. The relations that have been with our Indian partners at the ministerial level, at the leader level and at all levels are progressing. The already extensive relations between the two countries are getting deeper.
“These relationships are political, diplomatic, economic, security, and most importantly people-to-people relationships,” Price said.
Let us tell you that in the report submitted to the American President of the American Intelligence Community’s Annual Threat Assessment (Annual Assessment of Threat), it has been said that India’s relations with Pakistan are a matter of concern, Pakistan has a history of supporting terrorists against India. But under the leadership of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is more likely than ever that India will respond to any such provocation militarily. Unrest in Kashmir and terrorist attacks in India can be flash points for this.
