US State Department spokesman Ned Price said in response to a question that it is for India-Pakistan to decide the nature of the talks and if both countries want, America is ready to play its role in it.

He said, “Our message for India and about India is consistent. India is a global strategic partner of the US. The already extensive relations between the two countries are getting deeper.

“These relationships are political, diplomatic, economic, security, and most importantly people-to-people relationships,” Price said.
