Government company SJVN said on Saturday that its Green Energy subsidiary company has got a 200 MW solar energy project in Maharashtra. The cost of this project is Rs 1,000 crore. “SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, has received the letter of acceptance from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL),” the company informed the stock exchange.

According to the information given by the company, this project will be completed within 18 months. This time will start from the date of signing of Power Shared Agreement (PPA) with MSEDCL. Apart from this, the company told that the cost of this project will be around Rs 1,000 crore.
There will be 45.55 crore units of power generation in the first year from this project and the total power generation in the period of 25 years will be 1,048 crore units. With the commencement of this project, carbon emissions are expected to be reduced by 5,13,560 tonnes. This will contribute to the government mission of 500 GW renewable capacity by 2030.
