Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has raised questions on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s call for a nationwide dharna demonstration. The BJP had announced on Monday that the party will stage a nationwide dharna on May 5 against the ‘violence carried out across the state’ allegedly by the ruling party Trinamool Congress since the election results in Bengal. The BJP, along with other political parties, has been facing criticism for organizing election rallies and public meetings during its first election campaign, as Kovid protocols were seen to be grossly violated in these public meetings. The party says that it will picket keeping the Kovid protocols in mind.
However, Priyanka Chaturvedi raised questions on this announcement of the party. He tweeted, ‘Yes, we need super-spreader dharna events spreading Kovid across the country, because it is clear that according to BJP, there are not enough cases of Kovid in the country. Is not it?’
Yes we need super spreader dharna events across the nation, because clearly, as per the BJP, the country has not seen enough of a COVID surge, no? https://t.co/knFyS19Ehb

On its first day, BJP had said in a tweet that after the election results in West Bengal, on May 5, there are nationwide dharna demonstrations against the violence spread across the state by the Trinamool Congress workers. This demonstration will be organized in all organizational circles under Kovid Protocols.

Let me tell you that after the announcement of the election results in Bengal on May 2, in which the Trinamool won by a huge number of votes – there were reports of arson and violence from many places. BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya had tweeted that many BJP workers have been killed in the last two days. BJP has told the TMC workers hand behind the violence. At the same time TMC leader and Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien said that BJP had been spreading hatred in Bengal for many months, now Bengal needs peace and harmony.
