Shishir Adhikari, Trinamool Congress MP and BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari’s father, was removed from the post of chairman of Digha Shankarpur Development Authority (DSDA). This information has come out in an official notification. MLA Akhil Giri has been appointed in place of the officer, who is considered to be his opponent in Trinamool Congress. Giri told reporters on Tuesday, “He did nothing as the chairman of DSDA. So they were removed. ” Shishir Adhikari is currently the District President of TMC in East Medinipur.
TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that the MPs were not able to discharge their duties as the president of the agency. He said, “Shishir Da is an experienced leader. Maybe he is unwell. But we were pained when he did not utter any word against his sons Shubhendu and Soumendu, who are continuously attacking TMC after joining BJP. ” Senior leader and minister of the ruling party in the state, Firhad Hakim, however, claimed that as soon as the top officials “recover from their illness”, they will be re-appointed to the chairman of DSDA.
Shishir Adhikari said on this development, “He can do whatever he wants. I don’t mind. ” On this, Shubhendu said, “Those who remove him from power will be out of power in the next assembly election.” BJP’s national vice president Mukul Roy said that Shishir Adhikari can join the BJP if he wants. He is a veteran leader. Shubhendu joined the BJP last month. Later, after being removed from the post of Kanti Municipal Administrator, his brother Soumendu also helped change the party.
