The 30-share BSE index rose by 343.32 points or 0.69 per cent to 50,005.08 during the early trade on Thursday due to positive global cues and the rise in large stocks such as HDFC, ICICI Bank and Infosys. The NSE Nifty was up 102.90 points or 0.69 percent at 14,921.95.
In the morning, the Sensex-Nifty gained even more by quarter to 11. At 10.52 minutes, the Sensex was trading at a level of 50,060.99 with a gain of 399.23 points, or 0.80 per cent, while the Nifty was at a level of 14,950.55.
HDFC was the biggest gainer in the Sensex, with Bajaj Finserv, Tech Mahindra, UltraTech Cement, ICICI Bank, SBI and Infosys among the top rising stocks.
On the other hand Bajaj Auto, ONGC, Nestle India, Dr. Reddy’s and Kotak Bank were trading in the red mark. The Sensex jumped 460.37 points or 0.94 percent at 49,661.76 and the Nifty rose 135.55 points or 0.92 percent to close at 14,819.05 points in the previous session. .
