Bangladesh beat England by 50 runs in the third ODI. Shakib Al Hasan scored 75 runs with the first bat, then also took 4 wickets in bowling. He was awarded the Player of the Match for this performance. In Chattogram, Bangladesh elected to bat after winning the toss and were all out for 246 in 48.5 overs.

In response, the England team could only manage 196 runs in 43.1 overs. Bangladesh won the third ODI, but England won the series after winning the first 2 matches of the series. Adil Rashid, who took 8 wickets in 3 matches, was adjudged Player of the Match.

Batting first after winning the toss, the Bangladesh team got 2 setbacks for 17 runs. Captain Tamim Iqbal (11) and Litton Das (0) fell prey to Sam Karan. Najmul Hasan Shanto (53) shared a 98-run partnership with Mushfiqur Rahim (70). After Shanto, Shakib played an inning of 75 runs and took the team’s score beyond 200.

Among the rest of the Bangladesh batsmen, Mahmudullah scored 8, Afif Hossain scored 15, Mehidy Hasan Miraj scored 5, Taijul Islam scored 2 runs. Mustafizur Rahman was LBW on the score of zero and Ibadat Hussain remained unbeaten on one run. Jofra Archer took the maximum 3 wickets from England. Adil Rashid and Sam Karan took 2-2 wickets. Debutants Rehan Ahmed and Chris Woakes got one wicket each. A batter is run out.

Chasing the target of 247 runs, Jason Roy (19) and Phil Salt (35) shared a 54-run partnership with the English team. But, 3 batters were out for 55 runs. Sam Karan (23) and James Vince (38) were just starting to handle the innings when Mehidy Hasan Miraj sent Karan to the pavilion. Vince was also dismissed on the team score of 127. On 130, the team also lost the sixth wicket of Moin Ali (2).

Captain Jos Buttler (26) fought for a while, but he was lbw to Taijul Islam. From here the English team could not recover and got all out on 196 and lost the match by 60 runs. In the rest of the English batsmen, Woakes scored 34, Adil Rashid scored 8, Rehan Ahmed scored 2 runs. David Malan was dismissed for zero and Joffra Archer remained unbeaten on 5 runs.

Shakib Al Hasan took 4 wickets for 35 runs for Bangladesh. Taijul Islam and Ibadat Hossain got 2-2 wickets, while Mustafizur Rahman and Mehdi Hasan got one success each. Shakib also scored 75 in the first innings, for which he was awarded the player of the match award.

England won the ODI series in Bangladesh 2–1.  Since 2016, the Bangladesh team has lost the ODI series only twice at home.  England defeated them both times.
