During the match in Dhaka Premier League, Shakib went out of control and misbehaved with the umpire.

A strange incident has come to light for the fans who consider Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as their idol. Fans got to see a different avatar of Shakib in the Dhaka Premier League. In a video that went viral on social media, Shakib was seen misbehaving with the umpire for not giving out on appeal. Not only this, he also hit hard on the stumps. After this he was seen arguing with the umpire.

Actually this match was played between Shakib’s team Mohammadan Sporting Club and Abahani Limited on Friday. The Bangladeshi all-rounder’s ball hit the leg of Mushfiqur Rahim, who was on strike. After that they started appealing. The umpire rejected his appeal. Shakib, who was out of control on this, misbehaved with the field umpire. The incident happened in the sixth over of Abahani Limited’s innings. After this the match was suspended.

Shakib also scored 27 runs in 27 balls in this match. Due to this, his team, batting first, scored 145 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Abahani scored 31 for 3 in 5.5 overs. Shakib did not stop here. Even after the match was suspended, he reached near the umpire and uprooted all three wickets and hit the pitch. Even after this, he kept on arguing with the umpire for some time.

Now it remains to be seen what action Bangladesh Cricket Board and Dhaka Premier League organizers take against Shakib for this behaviour. They can also be banned for a few months. Shakib plays for Kolkata Knight Riders team in IPL. After the IPL was suspended, he did not even go to play the Pakistan Super League.

Shakib was earlier banned for 2 years in 2019. The ICC had imposed this ban on him in 2019 for not reporting when contacted by the bookie. This case is during the series of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. However, he returned to international cricket after his ban was completed in December last year.
