He came out of the prison with Parale from here. Did not return after this. Meanwhile, he was arrested by Narcotics Cell of Delhi Police.

Meanwhile, the NewsBust India correspondent gathered information in which it was revealed that Mahendra Bhagat (then Deputy Superintendent of Police), then sub-inspector of Rajasthan Police, played a key role in nabbing the serial killer by revealing the murder of these two brothers. The then IG Railway Harishchandra Meena honored the police team involved in research including Mahendra Bhagat with a city award of Rs 14,000.

Mahendra Bhagat, the then Sub-Inspector and currently Deputy Superintendent of Police, who played a key role in arresting serial killer Devendra Sharma and his two companions

The court involved in this double murder case sentenced Dr. Devendra Sharma alias Dr. Mukesh Khandelwal and his two colleagues Udayveer alias Makoy and his brother Raju alias Rajwa to life imprisonment in the year 2018. This is probably the first case of Rajasthan in murder cases in which the court did not grant bail to the accused until their arrest in 2004, and sentenced to life imprisonment. During this time he remained in Jaipur jail.

The wife had hired a taxi from Jaipur Junction, asking to bring the children from UP.

According to the information, Dr. Devendra Sharma came to Jaipur on 18 January 2004. Here at the railway junction he hired a Tata Sumo taxi car. He made an excuse in conversation with driver Chand Khan that he would bring wife and children from Hapur, UP. Chand Khan left with his brother Sharafat Khan with Dr. Devendra Sharma. Then Devendra had named himself as Dr. Mukesh Khandelwal and booked a taxi.

On reaching Mahwa in Dausa district, the two brothers had a phone conversation with their father Ghaffar Khan at an STD booth. In which it was said to go to UP for a ride and return to Jaipur the next day. After this, Ghaffar Khan lodged a missing report at the GRP Jaipur police station after the two sons did not return home. Tata Sumo vehicle owner Ghaffar Khan was a driver at State Motor Garage.

Police reached UP based on phone numbers from STD booth and camped there

According to DSP Mahendra Bhagat then he was a sub-inspector in GRP. Then began research under the leadership of Thanaprabhari Mansoor Ali. In which the police reached the STD booth at Mahwa based on the phone numbers. It was found that after getting a call from this phone to Ghaffar Khan, another phone was called to a number in Kasampur, UP. This phone number belonged to a fat tea lady in Kasampur, UP. There, the woman told that her relatives Udayveer and Raju Rajwa were talking to Dr. Devendra called. Udayveer and Raju Rajwa were residents of Aligarh.

During this time, two unclaimed dead bodies were found in Ganga Canal in Etah district by the police in UP. He was cremated by the Etah police as an unclaimed dead body. His watch and blankets were also seized by the police. With this, the bodies were identified as dead brothers Chand and Sharafat from the dead bodies and the recovered objects. Then in March-April 2004, the GRP registered a murder case and started investigating.

After this, again a team of about a dozen police, including Inspector Mansoor Ali, Sub Inspector Mahendra Bhagat, was sent to UP under the direction of the then IG Railway Harishchandra Meena. Udayveer and Raju Rajwa were discovered after investigation and rigging in many places. During interrogation of him, it was found that Mukesh Khandelwal alias Dr. Devendra Sharma was in UP jail. In the interrogation, Devendra Sharma told a family of Aligarh to indulge in the murder of both brothers in an attempt to mislead the Jaipur police. Then GRP Jaipur arrested him.

Police team reached UP again, collected evidence and caught serial killer and his two companions

Meanwhile, a thorough investigation was carried out under the direction of the then SP Dr Prashakha Mathur. The GRP and the Sadar police station, after talking to the taxi drivers at Jaipur railway station, had booked a taxi to the two brothers and asked for a sketch of the person who had left, and made a sketch which was given to Dr. Was similar to Devendra. After this, the police team led by Sub Inspector Mahendra Bhagat was sent to UP. Then along with Dr. Devendra Sharma, a prisoner named Qazi Savesh, who is lodged in the same cell in the jail, told that Devendra has arrested him in double murder. They are innocent. The double murder is done by Devendra and his associates.

Stopped the vehicle on the pretext of going to the toilet, then strangled the belt and killed both brothers.

According to the then sub-inspector and presently DSP Mahendra Bhagat, they apprehended Dr. Devendra Sharma and his two associates Udayveer and Raju Rajwa on the basis of recorded phone numbers, sketches and more. During the interrogation in Jaipur, it was revealed that on reaching UP in a taxi car, Dr. Devendra Sharma in Kasampur took his two companions in the car. From there, stay in the night with my puffy brother. But when the activity became suspicious, the brother left the Alsubah house the next day.

After this, Dr. Devendra Sharma, Raju Rajwa and Udayveer stopped the highway on the pretext of toilet. Then the three accused sitting in the back seat strangled both the taxi driver brothers Chand Khan and Sharafat Khan with the belt and then threw both the bodies in Hazara canal. It is said that even before this, Dr. Devendra killed many taxi drivers in UP and other states. He enjoyed strangling and killing people.

He used to throw the dead bodies in the Hazara canal so that crocodiles would eat the bodies there and there was no evidence. But the bodies of these two brothers flowed down to Gangahar in Etah. In this way, the GRP police arrested the three accused after the double murder was revealed. At the same time, those arrested earlier were released.
