State Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla said on Friday that the timing of Punjab’s government, aided and private schools will change from 22 February.
In a statement issued by the education department, Singla said from Monday, primary schools will function from 9 am to 3 pm and higher and senior secondary schools will function from 9 am to 3:20 pm.
The minister said that it is time for the final revision amendment before the annual examinations, and after constant demand from parents and teachers, the department has decided to change the school timings.
“Before the schools were reopened, classes were being conducted online by various means, reducing physical contact between teachers and students.
“Pre-board examinations are being conducted in schools, and after reviewing their performance, special attention will be given to the students.
Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla said, now with the change in school time, students and teachers will get an extra hour for final modifications, which will help them excel. The state’s schools were reopened in January, nine months after the lockdown to investigate the coronovirus epidemic.
