Miz Guthrie wrote a heartfelt note in Larry’s honor on her Instagram:

“My heart breaks this morning at the loss of NBC audio technician Larry Edgeworth (pictured right) due to COVID19. I adored Larry. We traveled together for two straight months on a campaign in 2008 and he was always the most warm, most professional, most loving. All hours of the day and night, no matter how hungry or tired or stressed we were – he was always a joy. He loved his work and excelled at it. He loved his colleagues and boy did we love him. Larry, dear, I will miss you. My deepest condolences and prayers to his family.”

She later uploaded a second photo with a short but sweet caption of the two together with two other co-workers, and captioned it:

“The good old days with Larry. Rest In Peace.”

Katie Couric, Selma Blair, and Brené Brown were among those to comment on the 48-year-old’s post, writing respectively:

“So so sad. Wonderful person and a gentle soul. RIP dear Larry. 💔”

“He seems like a wonderful soul. I am sorry”

“I’m so sorry.”

The 61-year-old leaves behind his wife Crystal and two sons, and obviously many others who cherished their time spent with him during his 25 years at the news station where he worked as an audio technician and in the equipment room. According to his wife, he did suffer from other health issues prior to contracting COVID-19.

NBC News Chairman Andy Lack informed staff of Larry’s passing via email, writing in a statement:

“Many of you were fortunate enough to work with Larry over the years, so you know that he was the guy you wanted by your side no matter where you were.”

NBC uploaded a video in his honor to their Insta as well:

A video which “captures the joy that Larry brought to everyone he met” was also shared from a 2011 trip to Namibia, shot by NBC producer Robin Sindler, where Mr. Edgeworth can be seen smiling and giving high fives to young children:

We’re sending our love to Larry’s family, friends, and loved ones during this extremely difficult time.
