India’s Sarabjot Singh has won gold in the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup Shooting Championships. He shot 253.2 points in the men’s 10 meter air pistol category and stood first. Whereas, Varun Tomar of India won the bronze medal. He finished third with a score of 250.3. Azerbaijan’s Rulsan Lunev finished second with a silver medal scoring 251.9 points. Sarabjot defeated Rulsan Lunev 16-0.
Shooting World Cup Championship is going on at MP State Shooting Academy, Bhopal. More than 300 players from 30 countries are participating in it. 37 shooters from India are participating in the competition, including 20 men and 17 women.
Sarabjot said – I am my own competitor
Gold winner Sarabjot Singh told that he started shooting from summer camp in school. Kovid was the biggest challenge while making a career in shooting. Started participating in shooting competition after 2017. In the World Cup, I was competing against myself.

When I reached MP State Shooting Academy, I didn’t think of competing with other players. In the 10 meter air pistol category, he focused on his own game rather than the other players. To be honest, it was right for me to compete with myself in this competition. I always consider myself as my only competitor.
Sarabjot has won six gold
Sarabjot has so far won two gold in the World Championship. Has won one Gold in ISSF Junior World Cup, one in ISSF Junior Cup and two in Asian Championship. Apart from this, he has won two silver medals in the ISSF Junior Cup so far.
China’s Li Juyi won the gold medal in the women’s category.

The women’s 10m air pistol round also took place on Wednesday. Li Juyi of China won the gold medal in the women’s section. At the same time, Doreen Wennekamp of Germany won the silver medal. The 23-year-old Li Juyi has won one gold and one bronze medal in the World Championships. Apart from this, she has won one silver and one bronze in the ISSF Junior World Cup and two bronze medals in the Asian Championships. Thadigold Subburaju Divya, Sangwan Rhythm, Isha Singh, Yashwini Singh, Manu Bhakher along with 25 players from India participated in this round.
