The victims of fraud by the Sanjivani Credit Co-operative Society met Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday. The victims, who came from different districts of the state, apprised the Chief Minister about the cheating of their investment of crores of rupees, deteriorating family and social conditions.
It is notable that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has been repeatedly accusing Jodhpur MP and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat of involvement in the scam, which the minister has rejected.
The Union Minister filed a complaint in a Delhi court yesterday accusing Chief Minister Gehlot of defaming him by dragging his name in the Sanjeevani scam. The victims of the scam reached the Chief Minister’s residence in Jaipur today and expressed their pain.
According to a government statement, “The victims told that Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat along with the Society’s Managing Director Vikram Singh had taken them into confidence to make investments.”
According to the statement, one of the victims, Shakuntala Sharma, said, “The agents and people who met the minister told us that the society is in the hands of the minister. Your money is safe. I had invested Rs 25 lakh.” Another victim Usha said, “I had deposited around Rs 20 lakh for myself and the women working as domestic help. Now those women ask daily to get the money back. In such a situation, it has become difficult for me to get out.
Vishnu, a resident of Malpura, said that he had invested about five lakh rupees for himself and his relatives, but now due to non-receipt of money, there are cracks in the family and relationships.
The Chief Minister assured of just action after listening to the victims. He said that this matter is serious. Gehlot said, “I am sad to hear your pain. If there is a need to change the law at the state government level, it will be done. Sanjeevani Credit Co-operative Society has embezzled the hard earned money of thousands of people.
He said that the state government will make every possible effort to get back the deposited capital of the toiling people. The Chief Minister has also appealed to the general public to make wise decisions while investing. Don’t fall into the trap of the scheme. The Chief Minister said, “The only way to avoid fraud is to invest after consulting experts.”
