Actually, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Japan to attend the funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, so the cabinet meeting has been organized after his return on Wednesday. The agenda of this cabinet meeting is not currently public, but it is believed that the issue of DA Hike may be on its agenda for approval, as this tradition has been maintained for many years. Since dearness allowance is revised every year before Navratri and subsequent festivals, the possibility of this issue being on the agenda is quite high.

For information, let us tell you that the All India Consumer Price Index (CPI or AICPI) was almost constant in January and February this year, but it increased in March 2022, due to which it is believed that the central government once Then it can decide to increase the dearness allowance.

Significantly, the central government revises dearness allowance and dearness relief on January 1 and July 1 every year, but this decision is usually announced in March and September. Till December 31, 2019, all the employees getting salary on the basis of 7th Pay Commission were getting dearness allowance at the rate of 17 per cent, and after that there was no increase or revision due to Kovid for one and a half years after that. Later, the dearness allowance was increased by 11 per cent to 28 per cent in July, 2021, and then again by 3 per cent in October, 2021, and that too on July 1, 2021. Since July 1, 2021, DA on salary to all central employees and pension to pensioners was getting at the rate of 31 percent from July 1, 2021. Then, in January 2022 also, the dearness allowance was increased by 3 percent, due to which at present all central employees and pensioners are being given dearness allowance at the rate of 34 percent.

Whatever increase the government will announce in DA i.e. dearness allowance, it will be applicable from July 1, 2022, and the employees-pension holders will also be given arrears from July till the time the decision is implemented. If this increase in DA is 4 percent, then all those who are paid on the basis of 7th Pay Commission will get a hike of Rs 720 in DA on the basic salary of Rs 18,000, and this increase will be Rs 1,000 per month if the basic salary is 25,000 Will go Similarly, those getting 50,000 basic salary will get a benefit of Rs 2,000 per month, and those getting basic salary i.e. basic salary Rs 1,00,000 will get a benefit of Rs 4,000 in total salary after 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance.

But if this increase is 5 percent, then according to the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission, in case your basic salary is Rs 18,000, your DA will increase by Rs 900, which will become Rs 10,800 annually. If your basic salary is 25,000, then you will get a benefit of Rs 1,250 per month or Rs 15,000 per annum. Similarly, if your basic salary is Rs 50,000, you will get an increase of Rs 2,500 per month or 30,000 per annum in your total salary, and if your basic salary is Rs 1,00,000, then 5 per cent increase in dearness allowance After that the total salary will increase by Rs.5,000 per month or Rs.60,000 per annum.
