Congress media chief Jairam Ramesh has called Jyotiraditya Scindia a 24-carat traitor and anti-national. He also said that Kapil Sibal may return to the Congress, but Scindia and Hemant Biswa Sarma may not return. Jairam Ramesh is on the Bharat Jodo Yatra with Rahul Gandhi. The yatra is currently in Agar-Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh.

Jairam Ramesh said these things in conversation with news agency PTI. He was asked- Will any rebel leader who has left the party be inducted into the Congress again? On this Ramesh said- I think those who have left the Congress should not be brought back to the party.

Jairam Ramesh is in Madhya Pradesh these days with Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. He held a press conference in Agar. During this, he fiercely attacked the BJP.

Sibal did not say anything wrong
Ramesh further said – Leaders like Kapil Sibal can definitely return to the party. After leaving the party, Sibal never said anything wrong about the party or the Congress leadership. On the contrary, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Assam CM Hemant Biswa Sarma said wrong things about the party and our leadership. Such leaders are 24 carat traitors and traitors. Congress will never accept them again.

When asked whether Scindia would have left the Congress if he had been sent as party president, chief minister of Madhya Pradesh or Rajya Sabha? Ramesh said- Scindia is a ‘traitor’ (traitor), a true traitor, a real traitor and a 24-carat traitor.

Jairam Ramesh had targeted Scindia in the press conference a day earlier also. He had said that Scindia wanted to become a minister, so went with the BJP.

Scindia was targeted even a day ago
Jairam Ramesh had fiercely targeted Scindia a day before. He said- Scindia left the Congress because he wanted to become a cabinet minister and wanted to stay in the number 27 bungalow. Everything else was an excuse.

This number 27 is the same bungalow that was allotted to his father Madhavrao Scindia three decades ago, when Jyotiraditya Scindia was 13 years old. Scindia’s childhood passed here. It is located at 27 Safdarjung Road, Delhi. Jyotiraditya had to leave after losing the Lok Sabha elections from Bungalow Guna, but got it again after becoming a cabinet minister.

What did BJP say?
The BJP has also retaliated on Ramesh’s statement. Madhya Pradesh BJP Secretary Rajneesh Aggarwal said- Scindia is a 24-carat patriot with strong cultural roots. Both Jyotiraditya Scindia and Assam CM Sarma are 24 carat committed to their work. Ramesh’s comment is totally undemocratic.

Sarma left Congress in 2015 and Scindia in 2020
Assam’s strongman Hemant Biswa Sarma left the party and joined the BJP in 2015 after the Congress’s crushing defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. After this, he is also the Union Minister and currently the Chief Minister of Assam.

While Scindia left the Congress in 2020, after which the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh fell. He was later made the Civil Aviation Minister in the Modi cabinet. Whereas in Madhya Pradesh, BJP returned to power due to his supporting MLAs.
