Indian opener KL Rahul and captain Rohit Sharma, who performed brilliantly in the T20 World Cup and the home series against New Zealand, have benefited from the latest ICC T20 rankings. Rahul has moved up a place to be from 6th to 5th position, while Hitman has jumped two places to be from 15th to 13th position. However, former Indian T20 captain Virat Kohli has dropped out of the top-10.

Kohli reached 11th position
Virat Kohli, who took rest in the T20 series against New Zealand, has dropped out of the top-10 in the rankings. Earlier, Kohli was in the eighth position and has now reached the 11th position. In the T20 World Cup, Kohli scored a fifty against Pakistan, while in the rest of the matches, he could not perform much.

Rahul-Rohit’s bat is constantly spewing fire
Rahul and Rohit performed consistently well against T20 WC and New Zealand. In the World Cup, Rahul scored 69 runs against Afghanistan, 50 against Scotland and 50 not out against Namibia, while his 65 runs were also seen with the bat against NZ in Ranchi. Guptill returns to top-10
New Zealand’s veteran opener Martin Guptill has returned to the top-10. He scored two half-centuries in the T20 series against India. Guptill is at number 10 in the rankings. At the same time, PAK captain Babar Azam is still in the first place, David Malan of England is second and South Africa’s Aidan Markram is in third place.

Ashwin-Bhuvi also benefited
