Hailing from Delhi, Jagdish Kumar was working in the hospitality industry in New Zealand, two years ago he started a tea business.

Then felt that enough was enough, now we should do something for our country, return to our homeland. In 2018, he came to India. Coming here, he started NRI Chaiwala. Today he has 45 varieties of tea, in which he mixes different herbs to make tea. With this, they are earning Rs 1.8 crore annually.

Jagdish graduated from Bhopal's Institute of Hotel Management. He moved to New Zealand only a few years later. He says, 'After coming here, the path was not as easy as I thought. After coming to India, he went to many cities of the country. In February 2019, I tried to serve my tea at the corporate office in Mihan, Nagpur, but I got disappointed from there, people did not give me a place. ”

Jagdish Kumar now wants his brand to open 10-15 outlets by the end of 2021 from Delhi NCR to major cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Chandigarh and Mumbai.

He adds, "Just after that, I gathered the items needed to make tea and put a tea table outside his office. This was the place where people coming to office used to come down and stop. I offered 10-12 types of variety there. My tea was being liked a lot.

Then a few days later I put a banner of 'NRI Chaiwala' in front of my table, which became a matter of curiosity among the people. I used to talk to the people who came there in English, it made them think that there is someone with tea, who speaks in English. "

Jagdish says, "I offered people 10-12 types of tea." It includes spice tea, tandoori tea, mint tea, chocolate tea, mummy's hand tea, man-made tea, love-loving tea, borrowed tea, etc. " He explains, "People used to laugh before drinking tea, then asked about tea." These are some of the unique flavors of NRI chaiwala that arouse interest in people. Some special spices are also added to all these varieties of tea, which are their secret recipes. He does not share it with anyone.

According to Jagdish, he wants to make tea a status symbol in the country. Right now, coffee is considered a status symbol in our country, but I want tea to stand against coffee. He says, he is not yet in a very competitive environment in India's tea market. This market in the country is still running in the traditional way, due to which there is a lot of opportunity to grow rapidly in this area. Says Jagdish Kumar, “India is the second largest producer and consumer of tea. We should drink the best tea there. However, most of the tea here is levelless. I want India to be the global leader in the tea industry in the world. So I have made 45 types of tea so far, that too with our Ayurveda blend, which will also be beneficial for the health of the people. ”

Jagdish Kumar has three outlets in Noida and two in Nagpur. They were closed in the Coronasal, but now the Noida outlets have opened. Posters of old films, the voice of Radio Amin Sayani and a tinge of old Bollywood songs are heard to bring the pure India feel to the outlet of NRI Chaiwala. Jagdish says that our outlets have a half-hour waiting for tea.

Jagdish Kumar now wants his brand to open 10-15 outlets by the end of 2021 from Delhi NCR to major cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Chandigarh and Mumbai.
