Mithali Raj is ranked fifth in ODIs in the rankings released by the International Cricket Council.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to send the names of R Ashwin and Mithali Raj for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, while the names of KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah and Shikhar Dhawan will be proposed for the Arjuna Award. BCCI sources told the agency that it has been decided to recommend two names for the Khel Ratna. The names of the women’s team’s Test and ODI captain Mithali Raj and spinner R Ashwin will be sent to the Sports Ministry for the Khel Ratna, while Shikhar Dhawan will once again be recommended for the Arjuna Award. Along with these, the names of KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah will also be recommended.
Last year, for the first time five players were given Khel Ratna
Last year, for the first time, the Sports Ministry gave Khel Ratna to five sportspersons. Vinesh Phogat in wrestling, Rohit Sharma in cricket, Rani Rampal in hockey, table tennis player Manika Batra and para player Mariyappan Fangvelu were given these honors.

Mithali is ranked fifth in ODIs
