New Delhi:
Congress observers have submitted their report to Congress President Sonia Gandhi regarding the crisis arising in Rajasthan. In this, ‘disciplinary action’ has been recommended against 3 close associates of Ashok Gehlot. Action has been recommended against Shanti Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi and Dharmendra Rathore.

Important information related to the case:

  1. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is not out of the race for the post of Congress President. However, the Gandhi family is troubled by the rebellion of over 90 MLAs from Rajasthan’s supporters. This information has come to the fore by quoting sources. Top Congress sources told NewsBust that ‘Ashok Gehlot is still in the race for the post of Congress President, it has not been ruled out’. Also, sources said that Ashok Gehlot will meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi. According to top Congress sources, Ambika Soni and Anand Sharma have spoken to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to resolve the crisis. It is being told that efforts are being made to solve the crisis that has arisen in the Rajasthan Congress.

  2. Ashok Gehlot had agreed to resign from the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan to take over the post of Congress President. He took this decision after Rahul Gandhi’s statement, in which he had clarified that the policy of ‘one person, one post’ would be followed. No one will be allowed to remain in the post.

  3. The formal announcement of change in Rajasthan was to be made at a meeting of MLAs at Gehlot’s residence on Sunday. According to Ajay Maken and Mallikarjun Kharge, who attended the meeting as central observers, the time and place was decided by the chief minister.

  4. However, only 20-25 MLAs appeared at Gehlot’s house. Most of the Congress MLAs attended a separate meeting at the house of Minister Shanti Dhariwal, a close aide of Gehlot. Later they reached the speaker’s house in a special bus and threatened to resign collectively. He gave this threat regarding the proposal to make Sachin Pilot the Chief Minister in place of Ashok Gehlot.

  5. The MLAs, openly disregarding party president Sonia Gandhi, refused to meet in person with the two central leaders. Also put a condition that a new Chief Minister should be elected only after the Congress President election.

  6. During this, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had said that morning, referring to his visit to a dargah near the India-Pakistan border, he had nothing to do with it. He told the central leadership, ‘I have nothing in my hands. The MLAs are angry.

  7. No one in Delhi could believe that 92 MLAs could threaten mass resignation without Gehlot’s active support and knowledge. However, Gehlot has apologised. But the Congress leadership has taken the indiscipline seriously by one of its most senior leaders.

  8. The Rajasthan crisis caused turmoil in the Congress Presidential elections to be held on 17 October. For the first time in more than two decades, no member of the Gandhi family is involved in this contest.

  9. The observers of the party submitted their written report to party president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday evening regarding the crisis in the Rajasthan unit of Congress. Sonia Gandhi on Monday asked both the observers Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken to submit a written report. Sources say that Maken gave the report to the Congress President via email on Tuesday evening. At present, the details of this report have not been revealed.

  10. Kharge and Maken returned to Delhi on Monday after the legislature party meeting could not be held in Jaipur and MLAs supporting Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot took a virtually rebellious stand and met Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath, the residence of the Congress president. Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal was also present in the meeting. After the meeting with Sonia Gandhi that lasted for more than one and a half hours, Maken had said that the meeting of the legislature party in Jaipur on Sunday evening was called with the consent of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
