Railways will expand its suburban services in Mumbai from Wednesday. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday that 350 trains will run each in the Central and Western Railway zones. However, only personnel associated with essential services prescribed by the state government will be allowed to travel in these trains. Goyal tweeted, "Railways will expand 350 local trains in Mumbai from tomorrow. Employees of Central Government, IT, GST, Postal, Nationalized Banks, MBPT, Judicial Service, Defense and Raj Bhavan will be allowed to work in essential services identified by the State Government. Significantly, both the zones of the railway started a limited number of suburban services for the employees engaged in essential services from 15 June. It was said in the railway's tweet that Western Railway had decided to start some local trains on selected routes in Mumbai with terms and conditions. Only those associated with essential services identified by the state government are traveling on these trains.
