Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has taken a dig at the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in the state over the law and order situation in Punjab. Baghel said that ever since the new government has been formed in Punjab, the situation is continuously deteriorating. Baghel made this comment pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh Has come in the middle of the case who has been declared a fugitive by the Punjab Police. The Chhattisgarh CM said, “Punjab was peaceful for many years but ever since the new government has been formed in the state, the situation is getting worse. Whatever incidents are happening are unfortunate. Punjab is a border state, so such incidents are not allowed.” Significantly, the Punjab Police has issued a lookout circular and non-bailable warrant against ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh and his associates on Tuesday.

154 people have been arrested so far
Addressing a press conference, Punjab’s IG (Headquarters) Sukhchain Singh Gill told that Amritpal Singh cannot be arrested yet. Gill said, “We are trying our best to arrest him. It is expected that we will arrest him soon. Punjab Police is getting full cooperation from other states and central agencies. A total of 154 people have been arrested so far.”
Many photos of Amritpal have been released
“Lookout circular and non-bailable warrant have been issued against Amritpal Singh who is still absconding and all efforts are being made to arrest him,” said the Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Punjab. Under this, Punjab Police had released his photos on Tuesday, in one of these photos Amritpal is seen clean shaven. IGP Gill has appealed to the people to help in arresting Amritpal. He said, “There are many pictures of Amritpal in different outfits. We are releasing all these pictures. I request you to show them so that people can help us arrest him.” According to the preliminary investigation, police have said that while on the run, Amritpal went to a gurudwara in Jalandhar district, changed clothes and fled on a motorcycle. According to CCTV visuals, Amritpal, who was seen fleeing in an SUV in Jalandhar on March 18, is still absconding.
