PM Modi will address the convocation ceremony of IIT Guwahati.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the convocation ceremony of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) through a video conference today. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) will start online Convocation Ceremony from 11 am today. As the chief guest of this ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the students at 12 noon.

A statement issued from the Prime Minister's Office said that 1803 students, including 687 B.Tech and 637 M.Tech students, would be awarded degrees during this ceremony. The program will include Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, among many other dignitaries.

Let me tell you that due to the coronavirus epidemic, IIT Guwahati is conducting online Convocation ceremony. This will be a virtual reality based convection in which students will be able to experience the online function by taking the avatar of graduates.
