Prashant Kishor said in an interview to NewsBust, ‘If you want to challenge BJP, you have to understand its strength – Hindutva, nationalism and welfare. It is a three-tiered pillar. Those who want to challenge the BJP will have to improve at least two of these three things.
He said, ‘There should be an alliance of ideologies to fight the ideology of Hindutva. Gandhian, Ambedkarite, Socialist and Communist… Ideology is very important, but you cannot do superstition in the name of ideology.
He said, ‘You people in the media are seeing the opposition alliance as a coming together of parties or leaders. Who is having lunch with whom, who is invited to tea… I see it in the formation of ideology. Unless there is an ideological alliance, there is no way to defeat the BJP.
He said that his ideology is ‘Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology’ and the Bihar ‘Jan Suraj Yatra’ is an attempt to revive Gandhi’s Congress ideology.
The election strategist has several victories to his credit since 2014. Prashant Kishor is now visiting Bihar in ‘Jan Suraj Yatra’. They say that this is only an attempt to understand the state and create a new political system.
Prashant Kishor, who is known as ‘PK’ in political circles, said, ‘This is to change the destiny and discourse around Bihar. Bihar is known for caste-ridden politics and for many wrong reasons. It is time Bihar is known for what people are capable of.
Prashant Kishor on the differences between him and the Gandhi family after offering a plan to revive the Congress, said, ‘My goal was the rebirth of the Congress. His aim was to win the election. We did not agree on the way he wanted to implement my ideas.
Prashant Kishor said about Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, ‘It is not just about walking. There has been a lot of praise as well as criticism in the six months of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Should you notice some difference after six months of running? This yatra is to improve the electoral fortunes of a party. I could cover only four districts. For me traveling is not a mission but to understand the region.
