Eight crore rupees from more than 80 people across the country Fraud Delhi Police has arrested a 41-year-old man for doing so. It is alleged that this person is using fake investment schemes (it Ponzi schemes Also known as). The accused has been identified as Gopal Dalpati. He was arrested on Thursday near the Saket court premises. He is accused of luring people by putting their money in fake schemes and promising high returns.
Gopal Dalpati was the director of Weird Infrastructure Corporation Limited and a registered company named Weird Industries Limited. The company also issued debenture certificates to assure customers of high returns.
After duping nearly eight crore rupees from more than 80 people, accused Dalpati and his associates closed their offices in Kolkata and Delhi. They were missing since then.
An official statement said, “During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused had opened several bank accounts to collect money from the people. Also issued debentures to give assurance of high returns to the victims.” Three of his associates Amarendra Prasad Singh, Bharat Kumar and Sanjay Kumar Das have already been arrested.
Police said that since the case was registered about three years ago, the accused Dalpati was absconding and was changing the address repeatedly to avoid the police.
