After the increase in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders in the past, the prices of PNG i.e. Piped Natural Gas have also been increased on Friday. Indraprastha Gas Limited, the supplier of PNG, has increased the price of PNG by Rs 2.63 per unit today. After this, its latest rate in Delhi has gone up to Rs 50.59 per cubic meter (rs / per SCM). Let us tell you that in less than two weeks, the prices of PNG have been increased for the second time. These new prices have come into effect from the morning of August 5, 2022.
IGL, which supplies PNG and CNG to the national capital and adjoining areas, said that the price of PNG in Delhi will now be Rs 50.59 per cubic metre. Till now it was Rs 47.96 per unit. IGL on Friday tweeted that “this hike will partially offset the increase in cost of production of gas”.
In order to partially offset the increase in input gas cost, the price of domestic PNG in Delhi is being revised to Rs.50.59/- per SCM, wef,5th August 2022.

Earlier on July 26, the price of PNG was increased by Rs 2.1 per unit.

Explain that the government has made it necessary to use expensive imported LNG to meet the increased demand. Due to this the price of gas has increased. Public sector company GAIL fixes rates on an average of locally produced and imported gas before supplying it to city gas distributors.
The prices of PNG have also increased in other cities of the country. Mahanagar Gas Ltd. in Mumbai. (MGL) has increased the price of CNG by Rs 6 per kg and that of PNG by Rs 4 per unit.
