Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the country’s first ‘India Toy Fair 2021’ through video conference today. This fair is being organized under the Self-Reliant India Campaign. In the Mann Ki Baat program in August 2020, the Prime Minister said that toys not only increase children’s activity, but also give wings to aspirations.
Enable toy makers to come to the same platform
This fair will run till 2 March 2021. The aim is to bring buyers, sellers, students, teachers and designers associated with the toy business on one platform. Through this platform, the government and industry will brainstorm on the next global hub for toy manufacturing and outsourcing.
90% of Chinese toys in the Indian market
India’s toy market was impacted by poor quality toys about a year ago. India’s share of the toy market in India is less than 1%. At the same time, China occupies 65–70%.
