Eight best careers after studying agriculture
1) UPSC-IFS (Indian Forest Service) Exam
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination to recruit officers on an all India basis by the Government of India for the scientific management of the country’s forests. This is a very reputed exam.
Despite their mandate to serve both state and central governments, IFS services are placed under various state cadres and combined cadres. To become an Indian Forest Service officer, candidates have to clear the UPSC exam. The IFS selection process consists of three stages: preliminary exam, main exam and personality test.
2) IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) Exam
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts IBPS SO exam every year. The objective of this exam is to select Specialist Officers (SO) for various Public Sector Banks.
IBPS conducts Common Written Examination (CWE). Through CWE the organization recruits officers and clerks.
IBPS SO Agriculture Field Officer Scale 1 exam is conducted every year for the selection of Agriculture Officers in various PSU Banks. Candidates who are interested in applying for the post of IBPS Agriculture Field Officer must have a bachelor’s degree with at least four years of study in agriculture or a closely allied field.
3) Staff Selection Commission (SSC)
In the field of Agriculture, the Staff Selection Commission offers a variety of job profiles to the graduates.
Those who qualify the State Forest exam are offered prestigious jobs in prestigious ministries and departments of the Government of India. This exam mainly offers posts like Scientific Assistant, Agriculture Officer, Foreman and Laboratory Assistant.
4) ASRB NET (Indian Council of Agricultural Research NET)
To determine whether a candidate is eligible to serve as Lecturer/Assistant Professor in State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) or other Agricultural Universities (AUs), Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) conducts ASRB NET, Also known as ASRB NET. As a qualifying exam, this exam enables applicants to apply for vacancies in various agricultural universities. There is only one paper in ASRB NET exam. A list of 60 subjects is available for the candidates to choose from.
5) NABARD Grade A Exam
To apply for NABARD Grade A exam, you must have a bachelor’s degree in agriculture with minimum 60% marks. For SC/ST/PWBD applicants the minimum marks should be 55%. NABARD is a leading financial institution which has many vacancies every year for agricultural experts to work towards the rural and agricultural development of India.
6) ICAR AIEEA (All India Entrance Exam for Admission)
National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) for admission to candidates seeking admission to various undergraduate and graduate courses offered by the participating universities. The entrance exam is also commonly known as ICAR AIEEA. The test is conducted at all five campuses of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal (with regional stations at Bengaluru and Kalyani) with) for admission to 100% seats in Master’s degree program and 25% seats in all State and Central Agricultural Universities in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary and Allied Sciences and so on.
7) Agriset
The Agriculture Common Entrance Test (AGRICET) is conducted by the Acharya NG Agricultural University (ANGRAU) to admit students to the four-year B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture degree programme. AGRICET is a state-level entrance test, administered in a paper-pen format. To be eligible for the exam, candidates must have completed 17 years with upper age limit being 22 years for all candidates and 25 years in respect of SC, ST and 27 years in respect of PH candidates.
8) MCAER PG CET
Candidates are shortlisted by the Maharashtra Agricultural University Examination Board (MAUEB) through MCAER PG CET for admission to State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) in Maharashtra. These courses include Master of Science (MSc), Master of Engineering and Technology (MTech) and Master of Fisheries Science (MFSc). Applicants are admitted to courses related to agriculture, horticulture, forestry, food technology, agricultural biotechnology, agricultural engineering, home science and post-harvest management.
The scope of BSC Agriculture is not limited
There is a common misconception that the scope of agriculture curriculum is limitedBut graduates of this field of study can actually work in many fields including plant biochemistry, horticulture, animal science, entomology, agricultural economics, biotechnology, soil science, plant breeding, genetics, agronomy, plant pathology, etc. Can There are post graduate courses available in agriculture, and there are lots of jobs available after you BSc agriculture.
