Rahul Gandhi went to London on March 1, where he raised questions on India’s democracy during his speech at Cambridge University.

In the meeting of the committee of the Ministry of External Affairs, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi clarified the statement made in Britain. He said that my statement was not about any country or government. Rahul said – My statement was about a person. I talked about India’s democracy. No other country has been asked to interfere on this issue.

Rahul also said that he raised questions only on Indian democracy, for this he cannot be called anti-national.

Rahul Gandhi reached the Lok Sabha on Friday, but after the proceedings were adjourned, 16 opposition parties, including the Congress, staged a sit-in outside Parliament.

According to reports, the Ministry of External Affairs had called a meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Saturday. In this there was a discussion about the Presidency of India in the G-20. Initially, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also gave a presentation on this. During this meeting, Rahul Gandhi has given these statements.

A BJP MP raised the question that some leaders are trying to gain political mileage by speaking about Indian democracy in foreign countries. After this, Rahul Gandhi clarified the statement. Rahul said- In London I only raised the issue of Indian democracy and I believe it is India’s internal issue and we will sort it out.

The Parliamentary Consultative Committee for External Affairs on India’s G20 Chairmanship was chaired by S Jaishankar.

Jaishankar stopped Rahul, said- Leader should speak in Parliament
Reports quoted sources as saying that the BJP MP tried to stop Rahul and said that this was not the appropriate forum to reply on such issues. Opposition MPs supported Rahul and said that Rahul Gandhi has every right to clarify. After this, Jaishankar stopped this debate and said that whatever the leaders have to say about this, they should speak in the Parliament. S Jaishankar told Rahul Gandhi to talk only on the subject of the committee, not on political issues.
