On the alleged assault by BJP MP, Maharashtra Home Minister said, Ex-servicemen will get justice


According to Deshmukh, Jalgaon MP Unmesh Patil (who was then an MLA) and his supporters carried out a "murderous attack" on ex-soldier Sonu Mahajan in 2016. Nationalist Congress Party leader Deshmukh alleged that Mahajan had complained to the police but, he did not take any action due to BJP being in power in the state.

He said that Mahajan then moved the Bombay High Court, which ordered an FIR to be registered in the case. Deshmukh said, "Their FIR has been lodged (after the court order) and I have asked the police to investigate the matter." An investigation will be conducted against Unmesh Patil and his associates.

The BJP tried to save the then MLA. But now the state government will investigate the matter and provide justice to Mahajan.

The minister also informed that the state government is also taking all steps to provide reservation in education and job to the Maratha community. The Supreme Court recently gave an interim order to stop the implementation of the 2018 law giving reservation to Maratha community.

Deshmukh said that while recruiting 12,528 police constables, the state government will do justice to every section of the society. The minister, however, did not comment on questions on actress Kangana Ranaut's allegations of drug abuse on Bollywood.
