The Odisha government will provide free examination ‘guidebook’ to all to help the students of class 10 who are preparing for the state board’s annual examination to be held in May this year. State School and Public Education Minister SR Das announced in this regard on Thursday. The minister said, “The state government will distribute a free ‘examination mirror’ booklet to all 6,20,508 students appearing in the 10th class annual examination.”
The minister said that to ease the pressure on the students, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had asked to help the students. Therefore, through the 700-page ‘Examination Mirror’ booklet, students will be helped in preparing for the upcoming examination of the board. The minister said that although the state government had cut the syllabus for the 10th board examination by 30 percent, it felt that more steps needed to be taken for the students. The exam mirror book will contain possible questions and answers.
The minister said that this booklet will be given free of cost to the students of government, government aided and private schools, who appear in the matriculation examination by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE). The exam will start from May 3.
Earlier, due to the impact on the livelihood of the people from Kovid-19 in the state, the Chief Minister announced the waiver of the examination fee for the matriculation examination on 13 January.
