Another suspicious pigeon found in Odisha
Odisha A suspected spy pigeon has been found in Puri district. Police officials gave this information on Thursday. He told that this is the second case of suspected spy pigeon being found in the state in about a week. Earlier, on March 8, a similar pigeon was caught from a fishing boat on the Paradip coast of Jagatsinghpur. According to officials, the second suspected spy pigeon was found on Wednesday in Nanpur village of Astarang block of Puri district. He told that a local person caught this pigeon when it came to mingle with other pigeons.

According to officials, the legs of the suspected spy pigeon were fitted with ‘tags’ attached to brass and plastic rings, they said, adding that one of these ‘tags’ was inscribed with ‘Reddy VSP DN’ and the other with ’31’. . Bikram Pati told, “This pigeon used to be chopped up. It didn’t socialize much with other pigeons. We also noticed some ‘tags’ on its feet so we decided to catch it. We used a fishing net to catch the pigeon.”
Police said they are probing whether another suspected pigeon was also being used for espionage.
Some devices, which looked like a camera and a microchip, were found in the body of a pigeon caught on 8 March. This pigeon was sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) for investigation.
