The Netherlands beat home team Qatar 2-0 in their Group A match at the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Tuesday. With this defeat at the Al Bait Stadium, the hosts Qatar could not win a single match in the tournament. He was defeated by Ecuador and Senegal in the first 2 matches. Netherlands’ Cody Gokpo scored in the 26th minute and Frankie de Jong scored in the 49th minute.

In Group A itself, Senegal beat Ecuador 2-1 in a thrilling match. All the matches of Group A are over. The Netherlands and Senegal qualified for the Round of 16 from this group. Ecuador finished third in this group and hosts Qatar finished last in the group. In the pre-quarterfinals, the Netherlands will take on Senegal on December 3 and Senegal on December 5.

Gokpo’s goal in the 26th minute
Cody Gakpo scored the first goal of the match for the Netherlands. He took the ball into Qatar’s penalty box in the 26th minute on the assist of fellow player Davy Klaasen. Here he dodged the defenders and the goalkeeper and sent the ball into the net. This is Kodi Gakpo’s third consecutive goal in 3 matches of the tournament. He also scored one goal each against Ecuador and Senegal.

De Jong scored the second goal of the match
After taking a 1-0 lead in the first half, Frankie de Jong scored the second goal for the Netherlands in the second half. In the 49th minute, Dutch player Gakpo reached Qatar’s penalty box with the ball. He played the shot but, the ball hit the Qatar goalkeeper and went to De Jong of the Dutch team. Here Jong made no mistake and scored the goal.

Home team lost all matches of the tournament
With the defeat in today’s match, the home team of the FIFA World Cup Qatar has been eliminated from the tournament after losing all their matches. They were defeated by Ecuador 2–0 in the first match of Group-A and by Senegal 3–1 in the second match. Mohammad Muntari scored the only goal of the tournament for them.
